Our Facilities
In 2012 we built a top of the range potato packing and grading facility based near Lanlivery next to the A390. This state of the art facility continues to supply high quality potatoes all year round due to its temperature controlled storage units which also cuts down chemical applications to the crop. 2014 saw the requirement for an additional 700 tonne chipping temperature controlled chipping store. In 2016 a 1000 tonne extension to the refrigeration store was built to cope with demand. In 2020 we added further storage.
We now have 2500 tonnes of temperature controlled buildings at Colwith and have access to an additional 500 tonne ambient insulated storage for short term requirements. We have excellent refridgeration techniques and have never used CIPC.
Catering for every type of potato packing, our first class grading facilities can handle around 175 tonne per day (depending on requirements) Both washed and unwashed potatoes can be packed on site.
Our Environment
Why our potatoes taste so good
Our potatoes are grown on the mainly medium loam soils surrounding the central patch in Cornwall. Due to our mild climate we start planting in early March on cliff ground surrounding Fowey and Menabilly to avoid early frosts and therefore we can dig our Cornish new season crop as early as the end of May. We then move more inland to our heavier soils to grow our main crop high yielding varieties.
